What changed on July 1, 2025?

Meta replaced conversation-based pricing (24-hour windows per category) with per-message pricing. A market-specific USD rate applies for every delivered template message in Marketing, Utility, Authentication, and Authentication International. Service messages are now completely free.

Click-to-WhatsApp ads and Facebook Page CTA buttons open a 72-hour window during which all messages are free.

How to calculate your WhatsApp Business cost

  1. 1 Pick the market. Pick the recipient market. The rate depends on the recipient location, not where your business is registered.
  2. 2 Enter message volume. Enter the expected monthly volume per category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication, Authentication International).
  3. 3 Pick a BSP markup. Pick a provider preset (Superchat, Twilio, 360dialog, …) or enter your own markup and base fee.

What is a BSP and do I need one?

A Business Solution Provider (BSP) is a platform that sits between your business and the Meta Cloud API — e.g. Superchat, 360dialog, Twilio, MessageBird/Bird. You can skip a BSP if you can integrate the Cloud API yourself. As soon as you want inbox, template management or CRM integration, a BSP pays off. Markups range from 0 USD (Meta Direct) to ~0.015 USD per message plus monthly base fee.

Which BSP is best for DACH?

There is no objective best — it depends on volume, tech stack and support needs. For DACH mid-market with marketing focus, German-speaking support and deep CRM integration, Superchat is often the fastest choice. For pure developer access at lowest margin, Twilio is the safe bet. 360dialog shines at very high volume. Compare in the table above.
